In order to give the downstairs a "cabin" feel, rough-cut tongue-and-groove
cypress is installed above the exposed douglas fir joists. (July 30, 2005)




A tongue-and-groove Advantech subfloor is both glued to the cypress below,
and screwed into the douglas fir joists to prevent squeaking later.
